This weekend’s main project has been a little kitchen diner refresh ✨
We said goodbye to the dark blue wallpaper from the previous owners, and have brightened up the space with a lovely pop of green.

Introducing our new dining table ✨
We ended up sanding down to stain and varnishing the new table, to give it a better finish, and I’m so pleased with how it’s turned out! I’m gutted to be saying goodbye to the old table from our old house, I still love it but it just doesn’t fit the vibe or space in the new house at all 😞 we’ve gone for an extending table this time, so we can still seat 6 people when we need to.
Next up will be getting some paint on the walls this weekend!

Really good quality table. Easy to put together and arrived well packaged. It’s easy to extend into the larger position and secured with catches to stop it from being loose or wonky. The fact the extendable piece of the table folds back into the table means you don’t have to worry about storing it else where.

Some new additions to the dining area 💐
With Christmas around the corner we decided to upgrade our table from a small 4 seater to a 6 seater (extending to 8). The table is a John Lewis dupe and came from daals.co.uk for a third of the price.
It’s such a great size and means we can actually have people over for dinner now!
We will upgrade the chairs once we find the perfect ones.
The new placemats are from friendlyturtlecompany and we just love them. We love animals and try to support charities who help them as much as possible, so these were a no brainer.

Don’t think I’ll ever have to extend it, it’s so spacious even without using the leaf extension. Highly recommend! It comes up quite bright but with a bit of wax/oil you can cure it similar to how you would a chopping board for a more “worn” look.

Received this dining table relatively quickly, the instructions were clear enough. It took 2 people to build. The last step was to insert the extension piece into the table and that's when we noticed it had been damaged on the edge, we contacted support and they offered to send a replacement part, but that arrived damaged too. The 3rd time it was wrapped better and we finally got a good replacement.
It's a shame that the first one was damaged because now the replacement extension piece doesn't match with the grain of the rest of the table.
Other than that the table looks nice and is a good size.

Absolutely love this table. Exactly what we wanted to go with our dark worktops in the kitchen. Goes perfectly with the colour scheme we went for and matches with the chairs we bought elsewhere. Have only had it a few weeks but have used it plenty! Even used the extending bit over the weekend and there is plenty of support without needing to clip it into place too. The legs are sturdy, the quality is amazing considering it’s not an overly expensive table, doesn’t stain easily and the overall design is simple and classic. Easy to put together and reassuring when there are plenty of screws but are equally not visible when it’s all put in together. This was the only reasonably priced table we could find online that wasn’t in excess of £500 and the only one in the colour we were going for. The customer service to arrange the delivery of the table was great too. Cannot say the same for the delivery driver but can’t win them all. I have absolutely no complaints about this table and 100% recommend.

The table is very sturdy and stylish. However, the finish on the oak veneer is very poor. In my opinion it has not been sanded properly and was left with a dull finish and the grain filled with sawdust. I had to treat the surface with Danish oil to complete the finish and presentation.

Popped into B&M for a cushion ended up with no cushion but placemats and a candle 🤦🏼♀️😂you don’t tell B&M what you want B&M tells you!! £96 later I have no idea how I spent that much and the worst part was my husband was there and needed resuscitating at the till 😳😆 hey ho found some nice placemats, wanted something cheap and effective as my nearly 2 year old stains everything nice I own 🫠🙃I also have 3 packs of rice cakes, angel delight, socks, air freshener, salsa and a partridge in a pear tree 🤦🏼♀️😂
