Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? We're here to help. Check out our FAQs below for quick answers to common queries. If you can't find what you're looking for, our support team is ready to assist you.
What size coffee table do I need?
It depends on your setup. With a standard sofa against the wall, a table roughly two thirds the length of your sofa tends to look balanced, so if your sofa is 180cm, you'd be looking at around 110-120cm. With corner sofas or L-shaped sectionals, smaller tables (90-100cm or round options at 80cm) often work better since they relate to your nearest seating point rather than the full sofa length. Leave 40-45cm between sofa and table if you can. Close enough to reach comfortably, far enough to move past without bumping knees.
How do I know if it'll fit my living room?
Measure your available space width and depth, then allow at least 40cm on all sides for comfortable movement. A 110cm table needs roughly 190cm of floor space to sit comfortably. If you're working with a smaller room, consider round tables, they take up less visual space and are easier to navigate around. Check individual product dimensions carefully; what looks right in photos can feel larger in person, particularly the depth. When in doubt, measure twice.
Are they difficult to assemble?
Most take one to two hours for someone with basic DIY confidence. Everything arrives flat packed with instructions and the tools you'll need included in the box. Our simpler designs like the Sveti glass table are very straightforward, essentially attaching legs to a top. Tables with storage or rotating mechanisms like the Bohdi take a bit longer but nothing that requires special skills.
Do coffee tables scratch or stain easily?
It depends on the finish. Oak tables with a sealed finish handle everyday wear well, coffee cups, magazines, the odd glass of wine, but no wooden surface is indestructible. Wipe up spills promptly rather than leaving them to sit. Our rattan pieces are naturally more forgiving of minor knocks. Glass tops show fingerprints but don't scratch from normal use. We'd always recommend coasters for hot drinks and placemats for anything that might leave a ring. Proper care means these tables age gracefully rather than just looking worn.
Do any come with storage?
Some do. Our storage coffee tables have lift-up tops that reveal space underneath for remotes, magazines, blankets, useful if your living room lacks built in storage elsewhere. The Maru collection offers both storage and non-storage versions of the same design. If you've got plenty of storage already, a simple surface works fine. Worth noting: the non-storage versions don't have hidden compartments in the base, what you see is what you get.
My living room is small, will a coffee table make it feel cramped?
Not if you size it correctly. The problem isn't the table itself but getting the proportions wrong. A too-large table blocks movement and makes the room feel cluttered. The right size makes the space feel complete rather than empty. For small rooms, round tables work particularly well, take up less visual space than rectangular ones and you can navigate around them more easily. Our 80-90cm round options or compact rectangular designs at 90-100cm suit tighter spaces. Nesting tables are another option, tuck the smaller tables away when you don't need the surface area.
