Little by little, the living room is coming together. The main furniture is now in🙌🏼 Olly oswaldo_iii and I tried all sorts of configurations with the furniture in this room, and now feel super happy. (It was bittersweet, because we were both adamant we would not block the window bay with a large piece of furniture, but we have😆 We envisaged a comfy armchair, side table and lamp in this space, but the sideboard looked and felt the best for us). The empty green pot on the floor of the small alcove, is for the🎄 It is not chamber pot🤭 #livingroomfurniture #livingroomdecorating #livingroommakeover #interiorlove #livingroominterior #edwardianhouserenovation #periodhomerenovation #periodhome #interiordesignlovers #housetohome #homedecorating #housedecor #loveourhome

so we finally caved and made an insta 👋 in may we moved in to our first house together, a victorian terrace built in the 1890s, and quickly set to taking it apart in places and patching it up in others. we’ve documented it all so far on our tiktok, so we’re going to keep the process side of things over there, and purely live for the aesthetic over here ✨ so far we’ve renovated our living room, dining room, bedroom, and office, all with a colourful mid-century modern inspired finish 🎨 that just leaves the loft room (soon-to-be music studio), dressing room, hallway and stairs, kitchen and bathroom, exteriors and garden… not much then! 😵‍💫 we’ll be sharing more as we continue to make this house our home 🫶 #homerenovation #homereno #midcenturyhome #homeinspo #homedecor #homedesign #victorianhouse #victorianterrace

The living room is making progress…. Earlier on my stories I asked for your vote on what pillows to use on the sofas; it was close tbf but I went with the slightly less popular. Not because I’m stubborn but because I genuinely wanted a pop of colour. I knew that if I went with the plainer option I would get bored quickly. Choosing a sofa this colour means you really can go with what you want and I love that! I love mixing it up with pillows of different sizes, textures and patterns, I feel like it represents my personality more 🤷🏾‍♀️ Not everything has to be matchy matchy; there’s a variation here and yet they work well and complement each other. I still have more pillows to order to add to the second sofa. The sofa was purchased from daals.co.uk which I only discovered recently and I’m so glad I did! They have some wonderful items online and I’m sure I’ll be visiting them again soon to furnish the bedrooms. Pillows were an unplanned purchase from dunelmuk which I actually find pretty good. Very reasonably priced and quite a lot of options. You can also order items online and click and collect 2 hours later which is awesome for impatient people like me who shop impulsively and want what they want the moment they want it! Could you work with this colour scheme? What colours would you have used instead?

Favourite features of our grade 2 listed, 18th century cottage ✨ 1. The coziness of our main living area, wooden beams and open fireplace - we are planning to sandblast these beams eventually and bring them back to their natural state as they have been painted a horrible pinky/orange colour on the ceiling. We want to open up the fireplace even more to mimic the fireplace on the other side of this room and have a real log burner here along with changing these carpets! Fun fact, our cottage used to be 2 cottages and the fireplaces were the original kitchens! 2. The outbuildings - I just love the look of these and these along with the garage made me fall in love with the house, they reminded me of a little Italian farmhouse 🥹 we have the help of our architect deciding what to do with this space but we are hoping these will eventually become our kitchen/dining room 🤞🏼 for now - they hold lots of cardboard that we still need to get to the tip 🤣 behind these are fields with horses so we would love to eventually be able to make the most of those views if we possibly can! 3. The crook - I feel like it just gives the house character and makes it look cute tbh, no other reason 🤣 4. The garage - this gives us so much potential for the house in the future, we’re not sure what this will be yet but we’re thinking a little self-contained guest house (way way down the line when we have the 💰!!) with a bar area that we can open up in the summer when we have friends/family over. But right now, it’s storage and a dumping ground for all of our rubbish 🤣 5. The letterbox - might sound strange but it’s literally a hole in our living room wall and I’ve just never seen anything like it so I love it and think it’s really quirky, definitely something I’ll be keeping! Stops the dog from getting to my post first as well as the hole is deep enough for our post to sit! 6. The wild flowers - the garden is going to be a huge project in itself and neither of us are gardeners but I do love all of the pretty wild flowers that are popping up. We even have gooseberries growing, rhubarb and either a plum/apple tree! ✨
